Celebrate Black Music Month in June with PBS

Whoopi Goldberg Presents R&B Classics from the Greatest Groups and Solo Acts on PBS Special

MY MUSIC: '70s & '80s SOUL REWIND hosted by Whoopi Goldberg debuts June 1 on PBS, with the greatest R&B classics of the era by the original artists including Kool & The Gang,The Jackson Five, Isaac Hayes and many more. 

Celebrate Black Music Month this June with PBS and Whoopi Goldberg as she hosts MY MUSIC: '70s & '80s SOUL REWIND, a new PBS special that begins airing nationwide in June. The program special takes a look back to capture the smooth, sexy and sophisticated sounds of the greatest groups and solo artists in Black music from the 1970s and 1980s. The program features both vintage and recent performances by such legendary artists as Kool & The Gang (Celebrate), The Spinners (Could It Be I'm Falling In Love), Isaac Hayes (Theme From Shaft), Lou Rawls (You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine), Marvin Gaye (Let's Get It On), Earth, Wind & Fire (September), Bill Withers (Ain't No Sunshine), The Trampps (Disco Inferno), The Hues Corporation (Rock The Boat), The Jackson 5 (A-B-C) and many more R&B greats!

This retrospective follows two previous popular MY MUSIC programs — Superstars of '70s Soul with Patti LaBelle and Aretha Franklin Presents Soul Rewind. MY MUSIC: '70s & '80s SOUL REWIND begins airing nationwide on PBS stations beginning June 1, 2013. Be sure to check your local listings.
